Nano Update

Thought I would share what I have been up to without giving any big spoilers away. Been struggling with a quest arch. not because of CK issues or lack of inspiration. My struggles were entirely due to testing something that goes against my moral fibers. In the creation of Summerset there are many quests so far, about 54,  which is good. Some people like to have evil characters, some like to have good and others like to remain neutral. Some will carefully examine the quest while others will go from point a to b to c for the feeling of completion. I have built a quest that, based on the actions of the character will lead down a dark path. This goes against who I am and how I play, but I wanted the option open for those players that like playing evil. Rewarded for examining quest objectives and making a choice that may not be obvious to many. The ball should get rolling soon on the rest of the quests. The main quest is intended to be 2 acts with about 8 parts in total. I have a number of other side quests I would like to implement as well. When I have the last quest done I will be starting recruitment for voice talent.

Quest Optimization

Got a good many of the quests done and got a bit ahead of myself too, as they were all working so well decided to just blast through them. Tested them when I was done a handful only to find out that some worked and some didn't. From a scripting perspective, everything was right and I couldn't figure out what I did wrong and why some worked and others did not. Tested some theories and the quests to see if I could get them working and came to a realization. The Creation Kit just doesn't like some things even though it should on a technical level. I had to rebuild many of the quests from scratch, which was annoying, but good too. I learned a lot about scripting from practice and was able to optimize the quests and the dialogue branches to be more seamless and use less scripts. There are still some things that I am not entirely happy with, but it appears the CK does not agree with me in regards to some custom dialogues. The good news is all the quests so far have been tested and work as they should. The main quest will have several parts to it. I have part 1 and 2 completed, and a few dozen side quests and hidden quests. There were some suggestions on minor tweaks for immersion and other aspects I did not consider from a developer perspective.

Quests

Have only been updating the progress report and thought it was time to have something up here progress wise too. Working on quests now. Doing some papryus scripting. Not as tough as I thought it would be. Got over a dozen quests finished at this point and making good progress. Will need to start recruiting voice actors when all the quests are done.

The Little Things

Right now my focus is on landscaping between major locations and building those areas of interest. It is really hard to determine a percentage complete. I have also been working with a very talented 3D artist who is helping to enhance Summerset in many different ways. Though I will not give to much info now. Although a lot has been completed, there is still a lot to do. as you can see in the last picture.

Shimmerene, Summerset Isles WIP

Shimmerene is pretty much done architecturally, organically and population wise. If you can't see this picture you need to up your contrast and brightness. This is a shot of Shimmerene at night. I don't want to spoil anything yet in any of the cities or towns so I chose to only show one teaser shot.  Too many times you see people starting WIP and releasing them too soon, people start asking many questions and the author ends up using there time talking with fans and ends up dropping the WIP, I have worked on this project since Feb 2013 and don't intend to stop. Shimmerene photo was taken with "the goddess ENB" Highly recommended.
